Ministry Requests

 

 

Children’s Ministry

 

 

  • Pray for Stacie Lejcar, the director of Children’s Ministry, as she oversees the ministry. 
  • Pray for the teachers & helpers as they teach and interact with the children each Sunday.
  • Pray that the children will be able to meet Jesus each week through the material presented and that they will see Jesus in the actions and lives of their teachers.
  • Pray for Cristen Puleo and Stacie as they are working on Vacation Bible School which will be

June 16-20, 2008.

 

 

Youth Ministry

 

  • Pray for Blain as he leads the Youth Ministry of our church.  Pray that he understands and carries out his responsibilities in a way that pleases God and ignites the youth to love and serve God.
  • Pray for Dave & Teresa Anstatt, Scott Elder, Lukeman Harvey, Raya Barreca, Karen Smith and Ranee Buck as they build relationships with the youth through Sunday school, large groups and small groups. 
  • Pray for the parents of the youth to effectively communicate God’s love to their kids.
  • Pray for the summer youth missions trips. The Sr. High will be going Covington, Louisiana from July 4th to 14th to help with the Katrina cleanup and the Jr. High trip will be July 20th to 27th and the youth will be working with the Iglesia el Faro ministry in Lebanon, PA.

 

Adult Ministry

 

  • Pray for John Heater, our Associate Pastor of Adult Ministries. Pray for him to have God’s wisdom in leading and helping the adult and small group ministries of the church. He gives praise for a very good men’s retreat.
  • Pray for our Small Group Ministry.  Pray that individuals in every small group will experience love and community, obtain a clearer understanding of God and His Word, discover their spiritual gifts and use them to minister for God from inside and outside our congregation.
  • Elsie Parker, the Women’s Ministry coordinator, requests prayer for committed women to be raised up to join the team.  Pray also for God’s guidance as He leads in the coming year to reach and minister to the women of Community through new projects He is beginning to develop. 
  • Pray for God to raise up godly leaders to be elders, deacons and deaconesses and small group leaders.

 

 

 

 

  • Pray for the pastor elders to have wisdom as they meet together to shepherd and minister to our church body.  Pray for them to love and protect their families and that God would put a hedge of protection around their homes.  Pray for clarity of vision, balance and the courage to do what is right; pray for a clear understanding of  God’s will and His Word.  Pray that God will give the elders wisdom as they seek to equip the church family for service in His Kingdom.
  • Crossroads ministry, for 19-29 yr. olds, that meets every Tuesday night. 

Pray for:

§         Wisdom for Michelle Corsnitz and that she will model Christ’s love

§         That the young adults will mature in their faith and be more aware of God’s will for their lives

§         That they will be obedient to God’s call on their lives

 

 

Outreach Ministry

 

  • Praise for the Bilingual Outreach as we partner with Iglesia El Faro, a bilingual ministry in Lebanon, PA.  Weekly services are held at our church building and start at 2:30 p.m. Pray that the people in Harrisburg who have been contacted will attend the services and grow in their faith and that others from the community will come.  Pray for a clear vision for the leadership team as the ministry moves forward.
  • Community Café – Praise for the connections being made as people fellowship with each other over a cup of coffee on Sunday mornings.
  • Jane Delsordo gives praise for the PWAP executive team of Dave Anderson, Jack Culp, Greg Lyons and Deb Chronister. She gives praise for the projects that are being done to touch lives.

 

Physical and Spiritual Needs of the Community Family

 

  • Greg and Betsy Lyons request prayer for Greg as the cancer has returned and he will begin chemotherapy treatments soon.  Please pray for wisdom for the doctors and for continued peace for Greg and Betsy.
  • Please be in prayer for Corey Gauker, Sr., his daughter, Cara, and the other families of the 3 teens who were killed one year ago, May, 4th, 2007, in a car accident.  The 1 year anniversary is this Sunday and the families are having a very difficult time.  A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 4th, at 3 p.m. at Living Water Community Church. 
  • Jim and Karen Sweetheimer request prayer as they grieve the recent death of Jim’s mother, Hazel.
  • Ann DeMarco requests prayer for safe travel for her daughter, Mary, when she comes home from May 9th-23rd.
  • Please continue to pray for Shelby Stauffer as she recovers from recent surgery.
  • Bill & Connie Miller request prayer for their daughter, Megan, and new son-in-law, Wili, as they begin their life together as husband and wife. Pray also for their son, Mark, as he makes work and living place decisions.
  • Darren and Tammy Decker request continued prayer for Tammy as she returns to work.  Pray for strength for each day.
  • Please pray for Steve Vaughn as he recovers from a very invasive surgery. Pray for encouragement for him as test results show that cancer cells are still evident and he will have chemotherapy.
  • Bernie Readinger requests prayer for his sister-in-law, Karen, as she recovers from recent surgery to remove a cancerous breast tumor.  Bernie also requests continued prayer for the salvation of his father. He is beginning to be open to spiritual things.
  • Harry & Barb Scroll request continued prayer for the health of Harry’s sister, Sherry Farver; for the salvation of Russ and Mary Martin; prayer for our pastors and leaders; and for the salvation of their grandchildren.
  • Lisa Piergallini requests prayer for work related issues for her and for her husband, Paul, to find employment.
  • Ray & Joyce Weavill request prayer for Ray’s daughter, Claire, to work through her physical, emotional and spiritual struggles.
  • Bill & Kay McConnell give praise that Bill’s doctor told him he is improving and healing and that Bill is allowed 50% weight bearing on his leg.  Pray for continued patience for both Bill and Kay.
  • Amy and Taylor Meli request continued prayer for Catherine to find a family and know her Lord & Savior; for Nick and Kris Long’s needs to be met; for Taylor to know her Lord and Savior and that she will have strength and courage; and for God to provide a Monday through Friday job for her husband, Pete so that they can worship together on Sundays.  Amy gives praise for her continued good health.
  • Jack & Anita Culp request prayer for Jack as he is scheduled for a knee replacement in June.
  • Mike and Carolyn Aiken request prayer for their son, Stephen, who attends Full Sail University in Florida.  They give praise that he has adjusted well and is getting excellent grades.  Pray most of all that his faith will continue to grow and remain strong and that he will find at least one Christian friend on campus.

 

Missionary Focus

The missionary of the week: 

                        John, Lynn, Jonathan, Irene and Amelia Annis:

·        They are grieving the sudden death of their daughter and sister, Mandy, who was killed on Wednesday, April 30th.

·        Pray for God to be their strength and peace.

·        Pray for John and Lynn as they have left Romania to live in the United States and there will be many adjustments for them to make.
