Adult Ministries

Community Evangelical Free Church cares about your relationship with God and others.
We offer a number of ways to help you grow and get connected into body life.

Community Café

If you are new to Community EFC or are feeling a need to get better connected to the people of Community, the Community Café is a great place to start.

The Café is open all morning on Sundays.  The informal atmosphere allows people to get to know each other over a hot drink and a light snack.  You can learn about the ministries of our church and have a spirited discussion about what God is doing in your life.  This is a unique opportunity for fellowship.

Café Conversations

Every Wednesday from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. in the Community Café, Pastor Kevin facilitates a time of conversation in a casual coffee-house atmosphere.  Coffee and great conversation are provided here.

Sunday Morning Electives

During our Education hour from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. we offer a variety of adult electives from which to choose.  Our desire is to create opportunities for the entire church body to connect and offer relevant topics to challenge and encourage each person.

February 14 - March 28

Reflections on the Cross – Follow-up to the Sermon     Location:  Worship Center
This series is designed to prepare us for Easter as we listen to five of Christ’s followers reflect on the cross and all that led up to it, and in listening, cause us to reflect on the cross as well.  This class is an interactive class in which discussion and the asking of questions are key components.

Conversations – A Time of Guided Prayer    Location:  Room 106 (by kitchen)
God has made it clear in Scripture that He wants His people to pray and He has promised that whenever there are two or three gathered in His name that He is there in a special way.  He has also promised us that whatever we pray for in His name, according to His will, He will do.  As a church body we want prayer to become one of our defining features.  Come join others in a time of guided prayer as we pray for our church, for our leaders, and for our community.

Great Expectations – What’s a Member to Do?  Location:  Derry Street Building
This class will lay out the history of our church, what we believe as a church, and what is expected of us as members of our church.  This class will benefit present members and prospective members alike.  If you are interested in becoming a member of CEFCH, you will need to attend this class.

Christ-Follower – What’s a Believer to Do?     Location:  Derry Street Building
The goal of the Christian life is to become like Jesus Christ.  In the early church, believers were called “Christians” or “little Christs”.  What does a Christ-Follower look like?  How does a Christ-Follower act, think, behave?  Come join us as we explore what a believer is to be and do.

Connecting people to God and each other is a vital part of our ministry.

Small Groups

Our small group ministry is our main relational connecting point and shepherding tool in our church.  We believe small groups help to provide spiritual and physical care, accountability and spiritual challenge to the participants.  We strongly encourage everyone to participate in a small group.  Our groups usually meet twice a month and are as large as 15 and as small as 6.  These could be made up of couples or singles or any variety of the two.

We have men’s and women’s Bible Studies as well.
These groups gather periodically around topics and book studies.

Men’s Ministry

Band of Brothers  is our ministry to men.  We believe that as go the men, so go the marriages; as go the marriages, so go the families; as go the families, so goes the church; and as goes the church, so goes the community.  Band of Brothers is designed to provide a training ground for becoming godly men who will join forces to battle all that thwarts our ability to live life as God intended.
