About Us
We started
Community EFC in 1999 with a mission to glorify God by being the
body of Christ in the local communities where we live, work and
play and reaching around the world with the gospel.
We are a Bible
based church that teaches that Jesus Christ is “the Way, the
Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through
Jesus.” We believe the mission of the church is to go and make
disciples and to love like Jesus loved.
We are a blend of
contemporary and traditional methods of ministry. Our 70 minute
services are contemporary and informal with projected
words, limited special music and 35 minutes of Bible teaching.
Nursery care is provided and Sunday School is offered for all
ages.
Wednesday evenings
include Cafe Conversations for adults, youth ministries and a
programs for boys and girls ages 4 through 5th grade.
We have a passion
and a plan for reaching out to our neighbors. We want Jesus to
become relevant and real to our neighbors as we live out our
faith and tell His story.
We believe in
small group ministry and see it as a vital part of growing as a
Christian. This ministry is central to building relationships
and living the Christian life together.
We welcome you to
Community EFC. We hope you find a church home with us where you
can worship Jesus, grow in your faith, serve as God has
gifted you and connect with fellow followers of Christ.
What are our
values?
The Word of God
is our foundation. The Word of God, the Holy Bible, is inspired
and true, so we study, teach, and practice its eternal truths -
it is both our main point
of contact with the living God and our standard for doctrine.
Prayer
is our lifeline to the Father. God hears and answers our
prayers as His children. Our prayer is evidence of our faith.
Christian
Community
is God’s blueprint for living. Because God intends for us
to develop deep, caring friendships, we agree to support and
look out for each other allowing God’s love to work through us
to meet people’s needs by serving them.
We’re called to be
a beacon of outreach. Salvation is found in no one but
Jesus so we are committed to introducing the lost to Christ,
both locally and around the world.
Pursuing
personal holiness
is essential for God’s people. We continue to grow in
Christ-like character that is in our beliefs, our attitudes, and
our actions as God demonstrates His grace in us and through us.
Making
disciple-makers
is a changeless priority. We reproduce disciples both
personally and in small groups in order to carry out the New
Testament principle of spiritual multiplication with a goal of
planting churches
Every believer is
a minister of God’s grace. A growing believer identifies,
develops and uses his or her God-given gifts and passions to
encourage and serve other Christians and to bring the lost to
Christ.
Worship:
It’s how we give honor to God. We will aim to touch the heart
of God through meaningful, uplifting music, and other means of
celebrations such as prayer and the way we live our lives.
Acceptance:
all people are valuable to God. Salvation is made available to
all who believe and is paid for by the death of Jesus.
Excellence
honors
God. We’re committed to pursuing the ministry of our church
with diligence and excellence.

We believe the
Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without
error in the original writings, the complete
revelation of His will for the
salvation of men, and the Divine and final authority for all Christian faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
We believe in
one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in
three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1; Colossians 2:9).
We believe that
Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit
and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins
according to the scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead and
ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the
Majesty on High, He now is
our High Priest and Advocate
(1 Corinthians 15:3-4; I John 2:1; Luke 1:35).
We believe
that
the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ,
and during
this age to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell,
guide,
instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service
(John 15:26;
John 16:7-14).
We believe that
man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is, therefore, lost;
and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can
salvation and spiritual
life be obtained
(Genesis 1:27; Romans 5:12; John 3:3).
We believe that
the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide
the only ground for
justification and salvation for all who believe, and
only those who receive
Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus
become children of God
(Hebrews 9:22; Romans 5:1; John 3:16).
We believe that
the Lord’s supper and water baptism are ordinances to be
observed by the Church
during this present age. They are, however, not to be
regarded as means of
salvation
(1 Corinthians 11:23-26; Matthew 28:19-20).
We believe that
the true Church is composed of all such persons who, through saving faith in
Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the
Holy Spirit and are baptized into the
body of Christ of which He
is the head
(1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 4:1-6;
Titus 3:5).
We believe
that
only those who are members of the true and invisible
Church will be eligible for
membership in the local church (Acts 2:47).
We believe that
Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church, and that every local church has
the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs (Ephesians 1:22;
Colossians 1:18).
We believe in
the personal and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ before the millennium
and that this “Blessed Hope” has a vital bearing
on the personal life and
service of the believer
(Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:14-16; 1 John 3:1-3).
We believe in
the bodily resurrection of the dead, of the believer to everlasting blessedness
and joy with the Lord, of the unbeliever to judgment and
everlasting conscious
punishment
(2 Corinthians 5:10; Revelations 20:15; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9).
